"In a world where science hides in plain sight, permeating every aspect of our daily well-being, the importance of accurately communicating its benefits and risks has never been as important”.
SciCom – Making Sense of Science is an international company and consulting practice dedicated to delivering solutions to communicating the most challenging science. It serves as an educator, leader, spokesperson and hub for like-minded professional groups striving to advance science around the world. Their common cause is working at the nexus of science and society on often difficult to communicate research topics where the scientific evidence can get lost in the communications battle for and against.
SciCom’s passion is bringing public, private and cause-related groups together around a specific communications challenge, identifying similarities and differences, sharing the latest knowledge on new developments, yet doing everything possible to champion evidence-based policy above policy-biased evidence.
Furthermore, SciCom – Making Sense of Science is fully represented on the Governing Board of Euroscience; as the Vice-Chair, International Media & Marketing Committee, European City of Science 2016 Manchester (ESOF); as the International Media Partner, World Science Forum 2015; as a Strategic Science Communications Adviser, Science Forum South Africa 2015; as a Planning Group Member, International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA); as a Regional Contributor, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Regional Assessment for Europe etc.
